The Takin’ it to the Streets Festival & Summit

Takin’ It to the Streets is an international festival where artistic expression, spirituality and urban creativity inspire social change. This year’s Takin’ It to the Streets Festival & Summit will commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy in Marquette Park on Saturday, August 5, using the power of art, activism and relationship-building to radically re-imagining the City and the world. The 1000 Mile March will lead into Marquette Park that morning and will kick off the festival and summit that afternoon.

The festival will engage thousands of people through music, dance, family activities, inspirational talks, and a bazaar, and the summit will commence in a separate part of the park deeply engaging civil and social justice issues of our day through panel discussions, table conversations, relational meetings and artistic reflections.
